Behold, the Former Things Have Come to Pass, and New Things I Declare

Happy New Year 2011

Happy New Year 2011! 2010 is officially over – the former things have come to pass, yes, they are in the past.  And new things await us in the New Year. Our first Bible or Not quote of 2011 is exactly that, seeing the old pass away and the new ushered in.

“Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.” – Isaiah 42:9 NKJV

I see this Bible verse as a recognition that you can’t change the past, coupled with the promise that God is in control of the future. With that, we can let go of past struggles, heart aches and failures, and embrace the good things that come from serving the true, living and loving God. Before 2011 springs forth, God has ordained the paths of those who serve Him.

So here is wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year filled with the blessings and promises of God!

And in case you were wondering, last year’s New Year quote was Behold I Make All Things New.

Well, 2009 is history, it’s in the books, yes, it has come to pass and is now over. As we look forward to 2010 and what the new year will bring, let’s look forward to everything that in new and good.

“Behold, the former things have come to pass,
And new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

Behold I Make All Things New

Well, here it is the last day of 2009. Tomorrow starts a new day and a new year.

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

Here’s wishing all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
