It is Better to be Silent and Be Thought a Fool
Today marks the birthday of a great Amercian president, Abraham Lincoln. President Lincoln is know for his strong character, wisdom and leadership, but it seems as though he also had a sense of humor. Funny how this Abe Lincoln quote starts out sounding Biblical, then delivers the punch line.
“It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.” – Abraham Lincoln
Here is a verse from the Bible that sounds similar, but clearly different:
“Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.” – Proverbs 17:28 NIV
Abraham Lincoln was born of February 12, 1809 and assinated on April 15, 1865. You can read more about President Lincoln on This Day in History. Here you can find many more Abraham Lincoln Quotes.

A Woman Is The Only Thing I’m Afraid Of
I came across this funny quote from a famous man who was afraid of a woman.
“A woman is the only thing I am afraid of that I know will not hurt me.” – Bible or Not?
Perhaps it’s funny to me since I’m a man, and can relate. Men fear their mothers, their wives, their girlfriends. No? Perhaps this “fear” is more based upon respect (hopefully) or maybe it’s more about wanting the women in our lives to be happy. And if they are not happy, then we feel as though we have failed in some way, and what we really fear is failure.
Is this quote from a person in the Bible, or some other famous person? If you are a man, are there women in your life that you fear? If you are a woman, do you see any truth in today’s quote?
“He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.” – Genesis 5:2 (New King James Version)
